Advent in Your Everyday: Day #23

Today's Photo: "Trailing"

music
, noun: "the science or art of pleasing, expressive, or intelligible combination of tones"

Yesterday at the children's Christmas program, there was some MAJOR singing going on! The kids were belting out all the songs at full volume with huge, genuine smiles on their faces. It was so fantastic to be able to absorb their enthusiasm for the story of the first Christmas.

Then, in the afternoon, I joined in with about 25 other Christmas carolers who annually travel throughout the town visiting shut-ins and singing classic holiday songs. People of all ages joined together singing joyfully. Many of the people caroled don't really sing publicly any other time. They just love to come out once a year and brighten the evenings of those who are unable to leave their homes.

Last night, the local high school choir had their Christmas concert. They sang so many beautiful songs! Like the kids in the Christmas program earlier in the day, the high school kids were also singing with huge, genuine smiles.

Music is so amazing, isn't it? A universal language all it's own. So, it's time to turn up the CD players in our homes and in our cars and SING right along with all our favorite holiday songs! Sing loud! Sing with a smile! Sing with your kids! Sing with your friends! The miracle of music is all around us - waiting to be reveled in!
