Once again, very minimal cooking going on. Maybe next week, right? :)

In the meantime, here's my food recommendation of the week: APPLESAUCE! So delicious and quick and easy! And mostly nutritious. The Target brand is cheap and tasty!

Next week's goal: start drinking green smoothies in the morning.  I was inspired by this site: Girl on Raw.

What are you eating this week?  Anything super tasty?  Extra convenient?  Tea recommendations?

  1. When you were in Southern Illinois did you get to have any of my mom's homemade applesauce? Yum, it doesn't get any better! After being raised on it, I have a hard time eating store-bought. Yes, I'm spoiled, I know. Mom's rationing her supply since the storm knocked out all the orchards last summer. Hoping for a better apple crop this year!

(Wow, that was just a really long comment about applesauce. Can you tell it's a favorite food at our house?)

  2. Kashi granola bars are a nice new treat for me. They pack a lot of protein and fiber, and are great for when you are snacky and/or don't have time for a meal...and who can resist flavors like Dark Mocha Almond?

Our meal staple for quick fixes are pre-made Indian dinners (Taste of India is a good brand). They take about 3 minutes to warm up on the stove top, I usualy throw in a 1/2 can of garbanzos and a handful of peas, and dinner is served. Great on minute rice! And if you feel extra fun you can make home made chapati (only needs whole wheat flour, water, oil, and salt) there is a woman on youtube who does it step by step, so easy!
