Merry 2nd Day of Christmas!

Merry 2nd Day of Christmas! Don't forget....we have 12 full days of Christmas celebrating, folks! The fun has only just begun!

Yesterday my mom and I headed to Iowa to spend Christmas with my awesome brother and his fantastic girlfriend. It was a 100% wonderful time. I love Iowa. The drive down was not particularly pleasant due to blowing snow. But the drive back this morning went very well.

While in Iowa, we ate, we laughed, we opened gifts, and we watched a great documentary called Becoming Santa (currently streaming on Netflix).

I received some very thoughtful gifts including an assortment of squirrel and foxed-themed treasures. They know me so well!

Here's a Christmas poem by Ol' Mr. Longfellow:

I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

I thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along th'unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

And in despair I bowed my head:
'There is no peace on earth, ' I said
'For hate is strong, and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.'

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
'God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail,
With peace on earth, good will to men.'

Till, ringing, singing on its way,
The world revolved from night to day
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime,
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
